FABIANO FRANGI

ASST VINEYARD MANAGER, GIESEN GROUP

A classic fun loving Italian, Fabiano is dynamic and down to earth. Passionate about people and sustainability, he studied Agriculture and Environment in Italy and Viticulture in Switzerland. Fabiano began his experience in vineyards almost by accident, but he has never looked back. He worked in different regions in Switzerland and Spain before coming to New Zealand in 2007. As the viticulturist for Clos Henri Vineyard for nearly a decade, Fabiano helped guide their transition to organic and biodynamic. He moved to Giesen in 2018 and while taking special interest in the company’s organic vineyards: Clayvin, Ridge and Old Dillons Point, he helps apply organic principles to all company viticulture.

Fabiano is the Marlborough Regional Representative for OWNZ and leads the organisation's respected seminar series programme.

STEPHANIE MCINTYRE

OWNZ MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS NZ

Stephanie joined Organic Winegrowers New Zealand in 2016 to assist with marketing, PR and events. Stephanie sees nothing but opportunity for OWNZ and is enjoying building awareness for the calibre and breadth of NZ organic wine through initiatives such as Organic Wine Week and targeted social media activities.

A certified Sommelier, Stephanie moved to Marlborough in 2005 from Vancouver, Canada where she had previously worked in the restaurant and wine industries. In New Zealand, Stephanie tallied up a decade of experience across three wineries and several wine & food event committees before setting up her own company, Outré. She is enjoying the diversity of working with like minded organisations and companies and sees great reward in providing personalised and effective support.

BART ARNST

OWNZ Executive & Conference committee co-chair

Bart Arnst began his vineyard journey in Canterbury before relocating to Marlborough to manage vineyards for Montana Wines. Around 1996 he began experimenting with organic techniques, and after significant successful outcomes he joined the Seresin Estate team to lead their vineyards through organic conversion.

In 2005 Bart ventured out on his own, providing viticultural consultancy, which he continues to do for growers and wineries throughout New Zealand. In 2007 he teamed up with Chris Darling to produce a range of certified organic wines under the label The Darling. Bart is a founding member of OWNZ and remains an active member of the organisation’s executive board.

CLIVE DOUGALL

WINEMAKER, ORGANIC CONSULTANT

During nearly three decades of involvement in the wine industry, Clive has placed particular focus on low impact viticulture and winemaking. A commitment to working sustainably has forced him to push the boundaries, removing unnecessary additions to wines while simultaneously improving the quality and integrity of those very products.

After over a decade as the Senior Winemaker for biodynamic producer Seresin Estate, Clive established his own company Organic Wine Solutions in 2018. He is enjoying supporting the greater NZ wine industry in the pursuit of great wine through organic and biodynamic practices.

Clive is an active member of the OWNZ executive board and is the organisation's representative at Organic Aotearoa NZ.
